As some of you may or may not know, I have been having a bake sale for the past two Tuesdays at my school to raise money and awareness for FOCOS (Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine). It has been going phenomenally! SO MANY people have been actively participating and donating extra money for FOCOS!
This past Tuesday (March 25) was the second of the four bake sales to be held. At this half-way point, my school and I have raised over $150!
I have also taken pictures and emailed them to FOCOS by their request. It was a great surprise to see that they compiled some of the photos I sent them and posted them to their Facebook page. Here is the link if you want to check out the post: https://www.facebook.com/OrthoFOCOS/photos/a.191712060991.155124.80782255991/10152364189230992/?type=1&stream_ref=10
It has been so amazing these past two weeks to see my school come together for such a great cause!
Well done and continued good results. Romans 5:3b-5…”suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character and character, hope. And hope does not not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Those of you who have and are “suffering ” with this thorn of affliction have the Lord, your families and each other from which to garner courage and strength. God multiplies blessings more than we can ever hope for or imagine when we are unselfish in helping others and in His love for us we are infinitely better.
Now I know what “FOCOS” means so this posting killed two birds with one stone….and my hope is wild success in the combat and overcoming of complex spine issues.
Love, respect and best wishes!!!!!
In looking at the pictures there is one where you, Summer, are standing with a bearded man. He reminds me somewhat of our cousin, Jimmy F. Later!
P.S. Was that your mother in the background of one of the pictures where you are with two young men? Sorry I’m a little slow seeing, thinking and then putting into words. Thank God for editing and rewrites, at least for us old fogies. Ta ta for sure this time.
Dear Summer,
It is wonderful to read your posts and to witness your transformation form a carefree child to an involved, compassionate, selfless and wise young woman. I enjoy reading your blog and wonder how much maturity there is in a young person like you. Thank you for sharing photos, you look wonderful.
With great admiration and respect, Spomenka
